You will definitely need a car.  Public transportation around Conroe will not be a reliable option. I-45 will serve as the major highway in and out of the city.

The population has been steadily growing. Today it has advanced to about 63,000 strong. The biggest draw by far will be Lake Conroe. This lake is composed of over 22,000 acres of water. Renters in Conroe who live in the area will have almost every single water sport and activity at their disposal. There are only a limited number of gated subdivisions in Conroe. This is one of them. Homes sit on a golf course and the lake.
