Remember that if you decide to lease, that the area is very walkable. This is one of the few places around the city that a car will NOT be required. If you do need some transportation the light rail will transport you through Midtown until it stops near the Texas Medical Center. However, if you travel to other parts of the city during weekends or late at night; you probably will need access to a car.

Underneath the Downtown area rests a unique set of pedestrian tunnels (about 20 feet) that encompass around 6 miles of total distance. It is listed right on their website.  However many apartments in Downtown Houston do offer additional specials not listed. If you can, consider leasing a studio. These are typically the cheapest.

Brand new hotels and lavish high rises are making their way into this centrally located part of town. Downtown used to be dominated by businesses, but times sure have changed.
