A new report published recently in the Houston Chronicle predicts that rents will rise 4.2% for 2020.  Occupancy is hovering around 90% and shouldn’t change much for next year. The average rent in Houston is around $1054. Regarding new apartment housing, an additional 17,000 units will be coming to the market for next year. As renters will discover, the majority of new properties will be constructed in the Katy area as well as inside the loop.
